Biography

Abigalis Mejia-Saladin

Medical Illustration MS Graduate Student

Abigalis Mejia-Saladin graduated magna cum laude from Augusta University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts; her concentration being painting and drawing. She is currently working to attain her Master of Science in her second year of the program at Augusta University. There, she is honing her skills and deepening her expertise in the field of biomedical visuals.

As a current MIGP student, Abigalis works with Augusta University clients to develop 2D medical visual resources for patients students and doctors. She enjoys the tactile nature of making 3D interactive models to facilitate teaching and learning. Informed by observation in the OR and rigorous science courses, she balances beautiful visuals, extensive research, and engaging storytelling to translate the language of science and anatomy into representative, understandable, and digestible imagery.
